Deep Web

Those parts of the internet that you can't directly access through a search engine such as Google or Bing (and who the heck uses Bing?). Attachments. PDFs. Weirdly-formatted docs.

Populated mainly by pro hacker dudes in black hoodies and optional bathing. (Not really; the deep web sounds sexier than it actually is.)

In fact, you've already been there. Stuff that you have to log into-–including your online bank account or a Facebook profile set to "Private," for example–-is all on the deep web.

The opposite of the deep web (the bits you can conjure up with a Google search) is known as the surface web.
