  • George stumbles into the living room with Martha.
  • As the host, he begrudgingly welcomes Nick and Honey into his home.
  • George trades bitter banter with Martha throughout the evening.
  • At one point he smashes a liquor bottle in anger.
  • George shares some stories with Nick, but doesn't necessarily tell Nick that the stories are about him (George).
  • George watches as Martha and Nick dance and pretends not to care.
  • When he can no longer take Martha's cruelty, he strangles her.
  • George attacks Nick and Honey with a game of "Get the Guest."
  • He stands by as Martha goes upstairs to have sex with Nick.
  • George rings the doorbell and comes into the house with a bouquet of snapdragons from Martha's garden. He announces that he received a telegram saying that their (imaginary) son, Jim, is dead.
  • George comforts Martha as the lights go down.
