Character Analysis

Beauty is Florence's baby daughter. For whatever reason, she's taken quite a liking to Vercueil and keeps bothering him while he works in the yard. Mrs. Curren is convinced that Beauty, like Hope, is a walking allegory (check out "Character Clues: Names" as well as "Symbolism, Imagery, Allegory: Hope and Beauty" for more).
