Breakfast at Tiffany's

Breakfast at Tiffany's

by Truman Capote

Analysis: Steaminess Rating

Exactly how steamy is this story?

There isn't any explicit sex in Breakfast at Tiffany's, but we do get some frank sexual talk. Holly tells the narrator that she has sex with Doc before he heads back to Texas, we know that she has had eleven lovers (not counting the ones before she was thirteen years old), and she's very open in her discussion of homosexuality. She throws around some un-PC epithets about gay women that might be a little shocking to some readers, and this ups the sex rating a little. But we never get firsthand accounts of people actually doing the deed.
