When Pound was young, he made a promise to himself to learn more about poetry than “any man living.” This makes sense once you’ve read a bit of his poetry. (Source.)

Unfortunately for his fans, Pound supported the Italian Fascists during World War II, was tried for treason, and was then found mentally insane in 1946. (Source.)

After being found mentally insane in a court of law, Pound spent the next 12 years of his life at St. Elizabeth’s Mental Hospital. (Source.)
