Some positions require nothing more than a bachelor’s degree, but you’ll want to obtain a Ph.D. if you really want to advance (and make some serious money) in the industry. Most jobs not requiring a Ph.D. are more in the applied research, product development or inspection-type areas. But then you’re almost something of a AAA-league scientist.
