Your odds of hanging on are good, too, and for many of the same reasons that it's easy to get into this biz. There are more and more opportunities opening up every day, so the industry will be welcoming additional programmers in, not booting them out. Just don't program your robot to kill anyone or steal donuts off a co-worker's desk and you'll be fine.
