Odds of Getting In
Getting that first gig will not be easy. Chances are, you'll have to work super-hard even to work for free at first. It stinks, but that's just the way it goes.
To land that first professional paying gig, you'll have to out-dance a ton of other people who've all worked just as hard and are just as talented as you. Undoubtedly, you'll get rejected again and again, which might send you home to wallow in a pint of Ben and Jerry's on more than one occasion.
There is hope, though. Plenty of dancers do, in fact, eventually break through. It takes hard work and tenacity, but it's possible with the right combination of hard work and being in the right place at the right time.
