As long as nature keeps taking it on the chin, your job should be pretty secure. The greatest danger would probably be if you hold a government position and funding gets cut. Some of those crazy bigwigs in Washington still think the Ozone layer is just cutting a big hole in itself. To them, it is really not that far-fetched. Most of those guys are pretty familiar with the concept of self-destruction.
