Glory

A bit of glory comes with the job of a do-gooder, even if the job is at a federal bureaucracy where multitudes of scientists toil in obscurity. EPA scientists are helping save the world and the human race from going extinct in a sump of pollution and ozone depletion. It's all guts, some glory, even if only you and your colleagues bask in it.
