Power

Well, you're not your own boss so you have to go where the chief tells you to go, and you can sometimes be pretty powerless against those flames, but despite that there's a certain degree of power to be had. You are, after all, overcoming nature and saving human lives. That's pretty powerful stuff. Not to mention the power that uniform has when it comes to the ladies.
