Power

The pilot: power. You: no power.

You work in a powerful industry—planes make the world go 'round…or at least make people go 'round the world. They join loved ones together, bring business professionals together to negotiate important deals, and transport the Knicks from New York to Miami in a timely manner so they can get their butts handed to them by the Heat.

You, however, have little to no part in that process. Without you, the planes would still go. The aisles just might be a little messier.

You're also powerless in terms of your schedule, i.e. your life. Mechanical failures, weather conditions, union strikes—all of these outside-of-your-control factors can throw your schedule out of whack. Hope you have some friends left after you've canceled on dinner reservations for the umpteenth time.
