Fame

There really are not many famous landscapes like the gardens of Versailles, Golden Gate Park, or Central Park…and not many people who are not Landscape Designers know who designed these landscapes anyway. Does anyone even know what the story is on the original landscape of the Pyramids of Giza? Everyone knows about crop circles, but those who design them remain a mystery (no matter how fervently you stick to your abduction story). Most arboretums that are cosmopolitan to (primarily) horticultural professionals were not even planned by Landscape Designers, but assembled by garden enthusiasts and collectors with way too much time and money on their hands.
