Once you get your foot in the door, chances are you won’t get pushed back out. Science needs its scriveners. New drugs and medical procedures, and innovative science will keep on keeping on. Scientists always need someone to write up their accomplishments in easy-to-understand prose, even if it’s only to get the attention of the FDA. And if your nerves can stand your working with prima donna scientists, statisticians and editors, you can last as a medical writer until you drop or retire, whichever comes first.
