Odds are great if you can outwit Father Time. Most models start their careers at 16 or so. Some countries like Australia have banned modeling for those under 16. Careers typically last until they reach 19.

You can extend your shelf life by taking acting classes, starting your own clothing brand or dating a celebrity. Kate Moss started modeling at 14. By 19, she was a supermodel and the poster girl for the “heroin chic.” Besides being super famous, Moss appeared in music videos, sang backup vocals, modeled for Chuck Close, dated Johnny Depp and started her own fashion line. Basically, she became famous and extended her branding, which is why she is still one of the wealthiest and sought after models in the world. Hard to believe she’s 38.
