Sitting in waiting rooms or talking with medical professionals isn't hazardous to your health, unless your leg falls asleep and you fall flat on your face when you try to stand up (but even then, we're guessing it's the ego that comes out the worst in that scenario). But remember, the bulk of a pharma rep's day is spent in the car, driving from office to office. The hours and distance can be grueling, but you've got to stay alert at all times because you are on the road. Beyond the dreaded numb butt, anyone who logs that many hours in a car runs a risk of an accident. But beyond the potential for a fender-bender or a stray face plant, the work of a pharma rep is typically not one of extreme peril.
