Stress

Most political scientists work in jobs where "the now" is very important. There's always a crisis to avert, a story to spin, a scandal to make hay on. There's always someone screaming at you, and someone for you to scream at.

That said, if you're a political scientist, you don't care if you're stressed, running on no sleep and lots of caffeine, and on the ragged edge of burning out. You just care that you're never, ever bored.
