Just saying...if a team...any team...wins the championship, does the team physician get any recognition? Is there a payoff for those long hours of bracing banged-up knees and bandaging miscellaneous boo-boos? How about some chits for facing a dozen hostile hometown reporters, explaining why the team's star player just got washed out for the season? Does the frazzled team doctor get one of those top-heavy trophies that teeter on his mantel? Does he get to go to the championship banquet and force down the rubber chicken meal? Most importantly, does he get to speak at his son's school career day? Or does the team physician get preempted by a second-string athlete whose off-field antics have gotten him a bunch of ill-deserved sponsorships? Like we said...there's no justice.
