As with actors, there’s a lot of luck involved. You improve your chances by pounding the pavement, maintaining strong relationships with your clients, and exhibiting a willingness to placate yourself before those who can better your position, but sometimes it’s just luck of the draw. Have you aligned yourself with enough actors who got lucky themselves? Scary, but the extent of your success may be riding on the shoulders of some guy who dropped out of college and spent two years doing performance art in the middle of Times Square.
