Glory

There's only glory if you win. So what does it mean to "win?" It means that there was likely a strike. A conflict. You played hardball. And you won. Which means that somebody else lost. You have the glory of your workers patting you on the back for negotiating awesome pension plans for them.

But the executives on the other side of the table knowing that your awesome negotiations will some day bankrupt the company—and then everyone will be out of work. Including you. Enjoy the glory while you can. Or find smaller glimpses of glory in finding compromise without fireworks and winnings.
