20-Year Prospect

Gambling is one of those guilty little pleasures that people are starting to feel a little less guilty about. Organized betting is slowly becoming more accepted in more places. Even in states that once frowned upon throwing your money away on a game for moral reasons, gambling laws are being loosened.

This is all great news for those who work in the gaming industry—including the 100,000 dealers in casinos nationwide. And even that massive number is going to increase by 11% over the coming decade (source).

Gaming is changing in other ways, thanks to technology. Fantasy sports is a massive business, and you know that Vegas is getting in on that. That means casinos are looking for people to run those odds. As more people start going to casinos, more jobs will open up to accommodate the new players. In fact, in uncertain economic times, gambling is probably one of the best bets you can make.

As a business, we mean. If you're unemployed, the poker table is probably the last place you should be.
