The potential for it is certainly there, but it’s tough to realize the fame you envision when you start out. Especially in today’s world when no one has the time or inclination to pick up a book, you have to be spectacular (or be virtually talentless but write such delicious popcorn fiction that no one notices or cares that you can’t write a lick) to succeed on a high level.
