Like My Predecessors, I Outlaw Bokonon

  • John writes his speech, finding it "impossible not to lean on God" (101.3).
  • Realizing he'll need the people's help, he invites the previously uninvited Castles since they know San Lorenzo better than him.
  • John momentarily considers asking Bokonon to join his government but decides against it. Good and evil must remain separate, for the entertainment of the people.
  • The guests begin to arrive, and John climbs a battlement to look down on all that's his.
