• Dr. Koenigswald goes to a basin of water to wash his hands. The water freezes around his hand, so he does what any curious fellow would do in the situation. He licks it.
• He falls to the ground, shattering into frozen human chunks.
• Ice-nine has made its long overdue appearance.
