Cat's Cradle Chapter 66 Summary

The Strongest Thing There Is

  • But don't worry. "Papa" isn't dead.
  • You were worried, right?
  • Frank rushes to "Papa's" side, urging everyone to give the dictator some air. Someone has the good sense to call for an ambulance.
  • John looks for Mona and finds her next to a pilot.
  • Somebody, John doesn't know who, has the odd idea to hold up a microphone to "Papa's" lips. They get a couple good death rattles over the loudspeaker before "Papa" can proclaim Frank the next president of San Lorenzo. Then he passes out.
  • John looks to Mona again and sees she is now rubbing her feet with the pilot, who is enjoying himself just a wee-bit too much considering the public venue.
