This standard is exactly the same as its eighth-grade counterpart, so we're simply going to direct you over there. Just don't get lost in vast expanse of cyberspace on the way over, please.

Example 1

Here's a lesson that fits nicely into a unit about South American history and literature.

Have students use the writing process to create a research paper on the topic of global activism. Their question should be generated based on their readings from The Teen Guide to Global Action. Students will engage in research using the Internet and print materials in order to compile a list of appropriate, relevant sources. Distinguishing credible sources, appropriate citation methods, and note-taking skills will be reviewed.
