by Alexandre Dumas

The Count of Monte Cristo Chapter 46 Summary

Unlimited Credit

  • Now, the Count begins to put plans into action. He wants to charm the pants off of Danglars and his family, as well as Villefort and his family.
  • The Count has Bertuccio buy two of Danglars's horses (which actually belong to Danglars's wife) for twice what they are worth.
  • Then the Count rides up to Danglars's crib, sporting the new trotting horsies, and he asks to open up a credit card (kind of) with Danglars with unlimited credit.
  • Danglars is pleased as punch.
