Character Analysis

Howard Ridgefield, "a retired society photographer" is another of Jean's correspondence students. Among other things, he draws "male and female nudes (sans sex organs)" (36). He seems to be mostly in the story to annoy the younger Jean, and amuse the older version who writes the story.
