Dead End in Norvelt

Dead End in Norvelt Chapter 22 Summary

  • The J-3 airplane makes its maiden flight in Norvelt, with Jack's dad at the wheel. Helm? Control board? Whatever airplanes have.
  • But even this is weird, because Dad dive-bombs empty houses, and also throws shoes at them.
  • Plus, Jack and his father make a plan to drop water balloons on the empty houses once Jack is allowed to ride in the airplane.
  • Miss Volker calls Jack to find out why his father is dive-bombing houses. Mrs. Vinyl got all worried that the airplane was a sign of an impending Russian takeover.
