  • Anne feels sad because her parents always side with Margot during disagreements. She’s also jealous of her father’s affection for Margot – but she says she isn’t jealous of Margot. Really she just wants to trust that her father loves her for who she is.
  • Anne has an even harder time with her mother. She thinks Mrs. Frank doesn’t act like a mom. Anne feels like she has to mother herself.
  • Anne believes that she has no good role models and that her parents have let her down.
