- Anne tries to reason with Mr. Dussel to allow her to use the table in their room two afternoons a week, so that she can get some of her work done. Mr. Dussel scoffs at her, suggesting that her "work" in mythology is not real work at all.
- Pim goes to bat for Anne and asks Mr. Dussel to reconsider. Mr. Dussel finally gives in.
