Foundation Part V, Chapter 9 Summary

  • Mallow's ship, the Far Star, is two days in space. Mallow calls Lieutenant Drawt to his quarters and gives him an envelope.
  • The Lieutenant's instructions are simple. The ship is to wait for Mallow for two months. If the Foundation finds them, then he hands over the microfilm as Mallow's report. But, if the two months expire, then they are to return to Terminus and give the Time Capsule as the report.
  • Wait, did we say simple? Because that seems kind of confusing.
  • Still, the Lieutenant agrees, and fifty minutes later, Mallow takes a lifeboat to…somewhere.
