A Game of Thrones Chapter 23 Summary

How It All Goes Down

Arya 2

  • Things with the Stark family aren't so great: Arya's being wild and fighting with Sansa (who tries to be nice to everyone but Arya).
  • When Eddard finds out that Arya has a sword, he tells her: "When the snows fall and the white winds blow, the lone wolf dies, but the pack survives. Summer is the time for squabbles. In winter, we must protect one another, keep each other warm, share our strengths" (72).
  • Eddard gives Arya her sword back and even gets her a "dancing instructor" to teach her how to use the sword. This "dancing instructor" is Syrio Forel, and we would wear a t-shirt with his face on it: that's how much we love him.
