A Game of Thrones Chapter 57 Summary

How It All Goes Down

Tyrion 7

  • Tyrion rides into his father's army encampment with three hundred clansmen, which sure sounds impressive until you realize that Daddy Tywin Lannister has twenty thousand men.
  • (This encampment is also at the Old Crossroads Inn, where Tyrion was abducted; the owner, Masha Heddle, has been killed.)
  • Tywin remains cold to Tyrion – who, remember, has just escaped captivity and nearly died several times – and catches him up on the war.
  • Short version: the Lannisters are winning.
  • The clansmen make a hilariously big entrance here and Tywin promises them they'll get what they came for.
  • And when Tywin hears that Robb's army is moving south, he decides to crush the boy totally. We can't wait to see how this turns out: this is action/fantasy movie at its best. Time for some popcorn.
