The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest

The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest

by Stieg Larsson

Monica Figuerola

Character Analysis

Figuerola is seriously a Wonder-Woman type. Her favorite hobbies: working out and sex. What she reads: books about ancient religions. What she does for a living: protect people's rights (including Salander's!) under the Swedish Constitution as an elite member of the Constitutional Protection Unit of the Secret Police. Figuerola works behind the scenes to prove the truth about Salander and those who have hurt her. What she gets for a bonus? The start of what seems to be a very serious relationship with Blomkvist. The part of her bonus she's having an eensy bit of trouble dealing with: the fact that Berger and Salander are part of the Blomkvist package.
