Green Eggs and Ham

Green Eggs and Ham

by Dr. Seuss

Green Eggs and Ham Lines 38-49 Summary

Return of the Killer Ham

  • When the big guy passes a tree, he comes face to face, once again, with his pursuer. Hanging from the tree is a red box with no front. Sam is standing there with a fox, and of course, the platter.
  • This time, he asks the big guy if he might appreciate the dish "in a box" (39) or "with a fox" (40). He's really doing everything he can here to get the big guy to snack.
  • As you might have guessed, the big guy declines this offer as well and makes his way up and down a big red hill.
  • Did we mention he looks mad?
