• That's when it happens.
• The Grinch comes to the shocking realization that he hasn't managed to stop Christmas at all. His plan totally failed (and rightfully so!).
• The Grinch, in utter shock and disbelief, wonders why all the Whos are still singing down in the town.
• It must be because it's Christmas; Christmas came despite the missing gifts and gourmet foods.
• How'd that happen?
• Because Christmas isn't a tangible thing that he could steal. In fact, it's something quite different.
