Gulliver's Travels

Gulliver's Travels

by Jonathan Swift

Reldresal

Character Analysis

Reldresal is principle secretary of Lilliput and also styles himself Gulliver's friend – when Bolgolam and Flimnap are agitating for Gulliver's death by poison, Reldresal suggests the kinder alternative of putting out his eyes to make him more docile and then starving him to death. Such is friendship at court.
