Sir Patrick is a ghost and the leader of the Headless Hunt. He is clearly an extremely popular ghost who upstages poor Nearly Headless Nick at his own deathday party. When Harry tells Sir Patrick that he finds Nick quite frightening, really, Sir Patrick yells, "Ha! […] Bet he asked you to say that!" (8.134).
