Mr. Ollivander

Character Analysis

Mr. Ollivander is a wand maker. We met him before in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone when he sold Harry his wand. Mr. Ollivander comes to Hogwarts to inspect the wands of the four Triwizard champions to make sure they all work. The center of each wand tells us something about the character of the wand's bearer – check out our "Symbols, Imagery, Allegory" section for more on wand cores.
