Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

by J.K. Rowling

Oliver Wood

Character Analysis

Wood was the captain of the Gryffindor Quidditch team during the first three years of Harry's schooling at Hogwarts. Wood only appears once in Goblet of Fire, as a fellow spectator at the Quidditch World Cup. Wood has "just been signed to the Puddlemere United reserve team" (7.80), so he gets to play professional Quidditch now that he's graduated from school.
