Padma Patil

Character Analysis

Padma is Gryffindor Parvati Patil's twin sister. She is the fifth year Ravenclaw prefect. When Luna Lovegood first meets Ron, she observes vaguely, "You went to the Yule Ball with Padma Patil [...] She didn't enjoy it very much [...] She doesn't think you treated her very well, because you wouldn't dance with her. I don't think I'd have minded [... ] I don't like dancing very much" (10.115). Ron clearly doesn't know how to respond to this at all (who would?). But at least now we know for sure how Padma Patil felt about the disastrous Yule Ball in Book 4.
