Dean Thomas

Character Analysis

(Click the character infographic to download.)

Affiliation: Dumbledore's Army (D.A.)
House: Gryffindor, 7th Year

A friend and long-time classmate of Harry, Ron, and Hermione, Dean is a kind of poster child for the Muggle-born or half-blood minority – we catch glimpses of him on the run throughout the first part of the book, and then he returns to join the Battle of Hogwarts with his schoolmates at the end. This fight is particularly pertinent to him – he's fighting for his own right to be a member of the wizarding community.
