Bellatrix Lestrange

Character Analysis

Affiliation: Death Eater

"The eldest of Sirius's living relatives" (3.54), Bellatrix is mean as a snake and lives only to please the Dark Lord. She's a devoted Death Eater who seriously doesn't trust Snape and who tries at the beginning of Book 6 to keep her sister, Narcissa Malfoy, from seeking Snape's help. Bellatrix broke out of Azkaban Prison in Book 5, and murdered Sirius. An important fact about Bellatrix's past: she tortured Neville Longbottom's parents. We think her name should be "Ugly Lestrange" instead of "Bella Lestrange."
