Brain Snacks: Tasty Tidbits of Knowledge

We haven't had a new book from Stephenie Meyer since The Host. Rumor has it (ooh!) that The Host was planned as a trilogy, to be followed by the books The Seeker and The Soul. Where do you think Wanda's tenth life will take her? (source)

The Host is soon to be an epic feature film, starring the wonderful (albeit unpronounceable) Saoirse Ronan, from The Lovely Bones, with a screenplay written and directed by Andrew Niccol. Niccol wrote and directed some of the most iconic sci-fi/fantasy movies of the 90s, like Gattaca and The Truman Show. We can't wait to see how he brings Meyer's vision to the big screen.

Wanda and Melanie's love for Cheetos is so strong, it's inspired some Cheetos-themed fan fiction. Could a Host-themed Cheetos tie-in be coming to a theater near you in time for the movie? (source)

In October 2012, science-fiction blog io9 included The Host on its list of "unfilmable" sci-fi books that were adapted into film. Some are successful adaptations starring Keanu Reeves, some are big stinking disasters starring Keanu Reeves. The Host doesn't have Keanu Reeves. Good sign or bad? (source)
