  • Everyone in Stamps is crowded around a radio in the Store.
  • A black wrestler, Joe Louis, and white wrestler are in a match, and the fate of the world rests on Joe Louis's shoulders. It feels like that at least. If he lost, they feel like all the racism would be justified.
  • People are drinking beer and eating snacks—all that's missing from the scene is a hotdog vendor. If Louis loses, it is all over.
  • Luckily for everyone, he wins. 
  • It's party time in Stamps.
