Analysis: Tough-o-Meter

(4) Base Camp

"Immigrant Blues" can get a little tricky, we're not going to lie. There are some mysterious lines and musings about the body and soul in here and some pretty deep stuff to contemplate. Because we're not given any specific information about our speaker, it can be tough to figure him out. Plus, all those smart-sounding words in the titles of his story can be a little daunting. But it's not hard to follow the main track of our speaker's thoughts – so bring Shmoop along and you'll be fine.
