Indian Camp

by Ernest Hemingway

Analysis: Trivia

Brain Snacks: Tasty Tidbits of Knowledge

Nick Adams appears in about twenty-four Hemingway stories. Considering that Hemingway published around seventy short stories, that's about one-third of all Hemingway stories! So he's clearly an important guy for Hemingway. (Source)

Hemingway's own father was a doctor, just like Nick Adams's. In much sadder facts, Hemingway's father actually committed suicide a few years after "Indian Camp" was published. Eventually Hemingway too killed himself when he was sixty-one.

Hemingway lived in a ton of cool places throughout his life: Paris, Italy, Spain, Key West, Cuba, and Idaho were just a few.
