The Little Prince

The Little Prince

by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry

The Little Prince Chapter 20 Summary

  • After walking for a long time, the little prince finally comes to a road and then sees a rose garden.
  • He is utterly shocked to see so many roses because his flower had told him that she was the only one of her kind in the entire universe.
  • If his flower were to see this garden, he thinks that she would cough and pretend to die in order to hide her embarrassment, and he’d be forced to look after her.
  • Then he thinks that all he owned were three volcanoes that only reached his knees and one common rose. He used to think he was very rich, but now he feels he isn’t such a great prince after all. He cries.
