Character Role Analysis

Ermengarde

Ermengarde is truly the Robin to Sara's Batman. She's there for every adventure, whether it involves sneaking up to the attic or pretending to be prisoners in the Bastille together. Even though she's a mild-mannered and kind of fearful girl, she's willing to risk her own skin in order to help Sara—even going so far as to get in trouble for sneaking up food in the middle of the night. And she never blames Sara for anything, defending her to the end. If that isn't a true friend, we don't know what is.
